anecdote #42 - (1.5 length) clerk on Queen St

asking where I could find a pay phone
his eye contact re-grounded me

he offered his cell

afterwards asked why I was in the area
I said a poetry conference.

he said he greatly respects poetry
reads some every day.

I gave him a booklet of poems.
he replied with a handshake, god bless you.

he gave me serenity, re-centering.
