anecdote # 199 - Michael Dennis

said in interview he reads
a book of poetry daily.

how to find and process
that much?? I decided to start

each day with sustained
reading; 50 pages of poetry

or long non-fiction. it's a dam
in brain against frazzle.

50 pages? Suppose it depends on the poet.

:) you two seem to be getting on well.

yes, some poets, it's hard to skim for that long. sometimes that's 5-10 pages of various poets until it adds up to that. for really good stuff, I'm satisfied after 40-50 pages. Or 2 dozen pages of essay and 20 pages or poetry. Somewhere in that ballpark.
